Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed a project to extend a strategic high-pressure line with 220 kV ground cables to transmit energy linking Wasit power plant and Layyah power plant with a length of 14 km, at a cost of more than 180 million dirhams.
This comes as part of the authority’s endeavour to develop transmission and distribution networks in all regions in the Emirate of Sharjah, achieving stability for the electrical network and improving the efficiency of the network.
Engineer Hamad Al Tunaiji, Director of the Energy Transmission Department, confirmed that the development projects for energy transmission in Sharjah are being implemented according to a comprehensive study of networks in all regions and according to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the support and follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council.
He added that the SEWA continues to implement development projects that support infrastructure, which contributes to the sustainable development of the quality and level of services it provides to citizens and residents.
