Sharjah 24: The Arabic Language Academy (ALA) in Sharjah is bringing 25 students from several nations across the globe to experience the beauty and richness of the Arabic language as part of the ninth edition of its Arabic language course.
Conducted by ALA’s Arabic Language Centre (ALC), the ninth edition will introduce Arabic to students from China, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Nigeria. The centre will host 15 students while 10 students will participate virtually in the intensive 45-hour course.

ALC’s courses aim to strengthen the communication skills of its participants by advancing their knowledge through reading, writing, speaking, pronunciation, and listening in standard Arabic. The course also serves as a bridge for participants to learn and understand more about the culture and values of the UAE and the wider Arab world.

The lectures are delivered by experts and specialists skilled in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, using modern tools to facilitate the journey of learners in acquiring language expertise and gaining mastery over it.

Speaking about the latest edition, Dr. Mohammad Safi Al Mostaghanemi, Secretary General of ALA, emphasised the importance of the courses that highlight the rich culture of the Arabic language, which has been taught for centuries over the world.

He added: “We welcome our international students to deepen their knowledge of the Arabic language and help them connect with people of the Arab world by exposing them to a beautiful facet of its heritage and culture through the ALC centre which was established to strengthen the Arabic language globally.”

The Arabic Language Centre was established in 2018 to serve as an incubator for people from around the world who want to learn Arabic. It embodies Sharjah’s vision to promote the Arabic language and affirm its central role in the emirate’s developmental and cultural project.
