Sharjah 24: The Traffic and Patrols Department at the Sharjah Police concluded its campaign, launched at the beginning of this June, aimed to promote and spread a culture of traffic awareness.
The campaign strive to spread awareness on adhering to traffic regulations, which guarantee the safety of pedestrians on the road, and reduce run-over accidents, injuries and deaths.
Major Abdullah Salem Al Mandhari, Head of Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, stated that the campaign targeted road pedestrians by publishing awareness materials through Sharjah Police's accounts on social media, and news sites in several languages, including Arabic, English, and Urdu, reaching 17,000 people.
The Head of the Traffic and Patrols Department indicated that the intensification of traffic campaigns throughout the year is aimed at raising the awareness of community members, which are based on the statistics of the past year, calling on drivers to abide by traffic laws, wishing safety for all.
