Sharjah24: Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) praised the efforts of blood donors, praising the importance of the efforts of volunteer blood donors and their humanitarian work in saving the lives of people whose lives depend on a drop of blood.
In conjunction with World Blood Donor Day, which was approved by the United Nations on June 14 of each year as a humanitarian occasion to raise community awareness, Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, affirmed the award’s keenness to honour blood donors annually, as they are one of the main categories of the award.
The Secretary-General of the Award explained that the number of honorees of the Sharjah Voluntary Work Award in the blood donation category amounted to about 102 honorees, since the third session in 2005 to the 17th session that was held in 2020, believing from the award in the importance of the blood donation process in promoting and consolidating the approach of social responsibility. The various components of society who have shown a high level of compassion and solidarity in different times and circumstances.
