APC and University of Sharjah sign a cooperation agreement

Sharjah 24: The Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), one of the institutions affiliated with the League of Arab States, signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Sharjah aimed at strengthening aspects of joint cooperation for the Parliament to benefit from the training programmes organised by the university through the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development, which is reflected in the development of the capabilities of children in the Arab world.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for the Child, and His Excellency Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah.

During the signing ceremony, His Excellency Prof. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, welcomed the ongoing cooperation between the University of Sharjah and the Arab Parliament for the Child, which resulted in the implementation and preparation of a large number of diplomas and training programmes that would contribute to raising the research and parliamentary capabilities of children and workers in this field. 

His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for the Child, stressed the importance of concluding this agreement, as it is held with one of the reputable universities locally and internationally, the University of Sharjah. He pointed out that the agreement lays out a broad horizon for academic cooperation sought by Parliament in order to train the children of the Arab world in general and the Parliament children members to meet the children's need for advanced educational programmes that enable them to exercise their role and contribute to raising their level and skills and also enable them to understand the necessary knowledge. 

Prof. Dr. Radi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University of Sharjah, stressed that the centre works continuously to develop the cognitive and cultural skills of members of the Parliament participating in these courses, through teaching modern and advanced topics that are commensurate with the technological developments witnessed in the world. 


The agreement comes after the university offered a number of training programs for members of Parliament and supervisors of children from Arab countries, in addition to other programs for children in the Arab world over the past two years in specialized diplomas. The framework of translating the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and founder of the University of Sharjah (may God Almighty protect him) in caring for children and providing appropriate rehabilitation programs at the hands of elite faculty members at the University of Sharjah.

The agreement will also regulate the bilateral relations between the Arab Parliament for the Child and the University of Sharjah, whereas the university will be able to serve the Parliament in accordance with the latest international standards and its ability to face all challenges. 

The agreement provided an opportunity to employ the expertise of faculty members and experts at the university in communicating information to all target age groups from 12 years old to 18 years old. 

The agreement emphasised the launch and management of skill training programmes and will offer, implement and coordinate training programmes that serve the Parliament, in addition to working to develop the capabilities of members of the Arab Parliament for the child, while designing programmes for all the children of the UAE, in a way that ensures common trends in expanding parliamentary work to cover the academic aspect.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Youssef Al Hayek, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development.
