Sharjah24: The Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah (SCFA) concluded on Sunday the activities of its annual Ramadan campaign “Health Crescent”, which was launched through its social media platforms.
The campaign, which continued throughout the holy month of Ramadan, witnessed wide interaction and participation from community members, including important awareness activities and educational programs that enhanced their health awareness and health benefits of fasting in treating some chronic diseases, as well as enabling them to adopt the best health and nutritional practices. The campaign spread through social media channels to more than 125,000 followers.
During the campaign, which came in cooperation with a number of government and private agencies, the administration organised 8 virtual educational lectures and workshops, presented by a group of doctors and health specialists in the health and nutritional fields from inside and outside the country, witnessing the participation of more than 700 people of all age groups, as well as the publication of 94 awareness and health publications, and 30 healthy nutritional recipes that included tips and instructions on the importance of eating low-calorie foods and their role in promoting a healthy body. The campaign has included different activities.
Her Excellency Eman Rashid Saif, Director of Health Promotion Department expressed her happiness with the success of the campaign, which came as a result of the visions and directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), and Her Highness’s continuous support for the administration and for all the launched activities, with the aim of improving health-related behaviors and promoting the general health of community members.
She said that the success of the campaign motivates the working teams to make more efforts, stressing that the administration will seek during the next year to organise more events and devise qualitative programs that will enable the campaign to continue achieving its goals.
