Sharjah24: His Excellency Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), received His Excellency Engineer Sherif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, During the meeting, they discussed work developments in the electricity market, providing energy with high efficiency and effectiveness, developing integration and efficiency in this vital sector and activating continuous cooperation in the field of transmission lines.
His Excellency Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SEWA, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is keen on cooperating and coordinating with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and all entities and adopting modern and advanced technologies to support the Emirates Energy Strategy 2050.
During the meeting, he reviewed a number of the authority's strategy for the electricity sector and the development plan of the authority, and indicated that concerted efforts and coordination between the authorities working in the energy field in the country will contribute to the development of this vital sector and raise the level of efficiency of the energy system.
His Excellency Eng. Sherif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, stressed that the Ministry is keen on continuous coordination with the authorities concerned with energy, including the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, to develop transmission lines of high voltage networks and joint training of work teams and is working on reviewing the National Energy Strategy 2050, which It is an indicator of the strength and maturity of the energy sector in the UAE, and aims to raise consumption efficiency by 40% in the various consumption sectors, diversify energy sources to reach 50% clean energy from the future energy mix and achieve economic, environmental, and carbon neutral goals by 2050.
