Sharjah 24: The Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah includes a museum of various copies of the Holy Quran, throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, "Sharjah 24" takes you on journey to the halls of the academy, revealing its precious holdings in eight episodes during the “Precious Manuscripts” programme, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
During the seventh episode of the programme, “Sharjah 24” reviewed Al Fatihah piece from a Holy Quran manuscript, found in the Mamluk period in Egypt or the Levant, during the 7th or 8th century AH, 13th or 14th AD, according to Dr. Bahaa Al Deen Dundis, from the Studies and Research Department at the academy.
He points out that the manuscript contains 7 lines per page, and Surat Al Fatihah was written in golden ink, and in the thuluth script within a wide gilded frame. The “Harakat” were made in black ink and gold dots, and the spaces between the lines were filled with red ink.
