As Sharjah celebrates the holy month of Ramadan these days with its unique atmosphere and distinct character, the Emirate has been witnessing a number of special religious, cultural, recreational, economic and social activities representing the values of diversity cohesion and harmony in the community of citizens, residents and visitors.
Eng. Khalid Omar Al Naqbi, Manager of the Sharjah Contact Centre, stressed that since its establishment the centre has been keen to build a Government Information Bank offering all the necessary details about the various services provided by government agencies in the Emirate.
The Sharjah Contact Centre offers detailed information and background about as many as 437 government agencies with branches in Sharjah providing more than 10,866 approved services, in line with technical standards of global call centres industry. The Centre firmly believes in the concept of providing best possible customer service in government institutions in order to achieve its objectives and satisfy customers.
Al Naqbi said: "We are working to cover every event that matters or is in the interest of the public and society, in line with the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah and its celebration of the most prominent annual events, most notably the month of Ramadan.”
Supporting charitable projects
The holy month of Ramadan is characterised by a breathtaking diversity of charitable projects and initiatives by philanthropists to help families and individuals and the Sharjah Contact Centre plays a key role by working with accredited bodies in the Emirate to provide support and contribute to advertising campaigns to reach the centre’s clients and audience.
The Sharjah Contact Centre works with many entities and institutions in Sharjah to receive the calls of members of public and provide them with the information they need guiding them to complete the required transactions.
This includes the charitable projects carried out by the Department of Awqaf in Sharjah to support and assist the needy through donors in the projects adopted by the Department such as stopping the breaking of the fast, maintaining mosques, providing drinking water, honouring parents, endowment dirhams, and other charitable projects.

Based on the keenness of the concerned authorities to monitor products and commodities, especially the different prices of different economic categories to ensure the comfort and protection of the consumer, the Sharjah Economic Development Department has allocated a toll-free number 80080000 that tackles consumer complaints in direct interaction.
