Sharjah24: Colonel Sultan Al Shehhi, Director of the Civil Defense Department in the Eastern Region, affirmed the department's keenness to spread awareness among various segments of society on ways to prevent fires, through intensive field campaigns.
On Friday, the administration launched its field awareness campaign, "Ramadan Aman", from Souq Sharq in Khorfakkan, and it will continue in the cities of the eastern region throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
Al Shehhi explained in statements to “Sharjah 24” that the campaign includes various cities of the emirate, as it started from the city of Sharjah to extend to the cities of the Eastern Region, and aims to educate community members about the causes of fires in homes, commercial and industrial facilities, and ways to prevent them.
He added that awareness campaigns are conducted throughout the year and in various languages. The campaign includes the distribution of awareness brochures and the presentation of visual materials, as well as competitions that attract all age groups.
