Engineer Ghada Juma Salem, Director of the Conservation Department at SEWA, confirmed that the authority is keen to spread awareness among family members towards the optimal use of resources, and to apply best practical practices in the field of conserving electricity and water consumption, to reduce waste rates and reduce the value of bills.
She highlighted the family’s major role in instilling conservations behaviours, especially among children, to face environmental challenges and raise awareness among individuals about ways to increase energy efficiency and reduce waste rates.
Ahmed Al Mihdhar, head of the technical support in the Conservation Department of the authority, explained that the initiative includes the installation of free conservation pieces in the homes that were selected in cooperation with the Al Rahmaniyah Suburb Council, and contributes to reducing water consumption significantly, changing homes into environmentally friendly.
The initiative also includes introducing families to smart lighting systems, the importance of using smart thermostats that improve the use of the air conditioning system in the home, and the importance of periodic maintenance of appliances.
