Sharjah 24: The Electricity Distribution Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed the installation of 530 poles, 32 km of extension cables, and the installation of 17 lighting boxes within the road lighting project in the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone), within three months.
Dr. Eng. Hassan Al Zarooni, Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, explained that the implementation of the road lighting project in the SAIF Zone is one of the necessary projects that enhance performance efficiency, facilitate companies’ practice of business, contribute to the development of the region, and provide security and safety. In addition to attracting and increasing the flow of foreign direct investment to the Emirate in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership of the Emirate of Sharjah and the government efforts aimed at adopting best practices in serving investors in a sustainable manner, and providing integrated services around the clock.

He stressed that the SEWA is keen to provide services that exceed the expectations of investors by developing infrastructure projects in the fields of energy and water and relying on technologies and high technology, which would provide an ideal environment for investment that positively affect the businesses of companies in various sectors.

He added that the road lighting project in the SAIF Zone included the installation of 462 poles with a height of 8 metres and 68 poles of 12 heights, the installation of 598 lighting units and the installation of 17 200-amp boxes, noting that the Electricity Distribution Department continues its efforts to study the lighting of all areas and sites in the Emirate of Sharjah according to the best specifications.
