The Sharjah Public Libraries Department organised in Khorfakkan, on Monday, a cultural symposium titled "Cultural Planning", followed by a retreat and a brainstorming session for a crowd of intellectuals, librarians, and government department officials about the bicentenary of Sharjah Public Libraries.
Al Ameri added that Sharjah Libraries, established about 97 years ago in the Sharjah Fort, are the first tributaries from which His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah gained much knowledge, knew the true power of books and culture in advancing nations, affirming that “Sharjah libraries” receive about 150,000 visitors annually.
