Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, visited Sharjah Clinical and Surgical Training Center at the University of Sharjah on Monday, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was briefed on the various departments of the center, which is working to enhance the practical application of innovative clinical theories, skills and knowledge to train doctors and nurses.
The center aims to enable surgeons to maintain the highest standards of surgical practices and patient care by providing extensive and high-quality expertise.
One of the first training centers of its kind in the region, the Sharjah Clinical and Surgical Training Center is an international center of excellence that provides world-class training in advanced surgical techniques, ultrasound, life support and laser training, using advanced simulations including animal and cadaver models as well as real patients for ultrasound and laser training.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi visited the Robotic Surgery Training Center at the Clinical and Surgical Training Center at the University of Sharjah, which is the first of its kind in the country, and the center works to enable surgeons to change the way surgery is performed by providing robotic surgical solutions to minimize medical errors.
Since its establishment, the Robotic Surgery Training Center at Sharjah Surgical Center has offered 17 training programmes in the field of robotic surgery, where more than 100 surgeons have been trained. The center aspires to increase the volume and scope of supported procedures in the field of robotic surgery.
