Sultan bin Ahmed honors winners of Al Wusta Camel Racing 2

Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, honored, on Sunday evening, the winners of the Al Wusta Channel from Al Dhaid Second Camel Festival, organised by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA).
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed also honored the participating authorities, represented by the municipal councils and municipalities of Al Dhaid, Maliha, Al Madam, and Al Bataeh, in addition to the Parents' Council of the central region students, Sharjah Camel Racing Club, Sharjah Sports Council, and the Central Region Police Department. The Civil Defense Department in the Central Region, and Sharjah Media City "Shams".
Saeed Al Ketbi, Director of Al Wusta Channel, confirmed that the launch of the race by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in Al Dhaid is of great honour to the people of Al Dhaid and the central region of Sharjah.

Al Ketbi stated that Al Dhaid was honoured to host people who showed up as either participants or audience, from different emirates and countries of the Gulf, for two consecutive days. It is a definite contribution to the revival and preservation of camel racing as part of the UAE's authentic heritage and identity.

Matar Ali bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unwavering support for heritage camel racing, and also to Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, for attending the closing ceremony and honouring the participants.
The tournament was launched under the directives of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, following the inauguration of Al Wusta Channel building from Al Dhaid in February 2020, when its first session offered numerous valuable prizes.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, CEO of Shams, Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the SBA, Rashid Abdullah Al Obad, Director of the SBA, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Media Council, and several other heads and members of the municipal councils of the Central Region.
