Bin Khadem: Sharjah Int’l Athletics Meeting launches on March 14

Sharjah 24: His Excellency Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Chairman of Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, announced the launch of the 10th Sharjah International Athletics Forum for the Disabled, which will be hosted by Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled in Sharjah from 14-16 March.
Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the 10th Sharjah International Open Para Athletics Meeting for the Disabled will kick off Monday, and will be hosted by Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled in Sharjah from 14-16 March.

Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, His Excellency Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Forum and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, extended his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, supporter of the disabled, for his unlimited support to the people with disabilities and to the 10th Sharjah International Athletics Forum for the Disabled, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah for the continuous support.

Bin Khadem announced that 250 male and female players, representing 20 countries will participate in the Forum after a two-year pause due to the Corona pandemic, noting that the aim of this participation is to prepare the players for the 2024 Olympics held in France.

At the end of his speech, bin Khadem wished the participants success and thanked the Sharjah Sports Council and all the bodies and institutions sponsoring the forum.
