Fifty-two members discussed the importance of supporting green ideas and initiatives in all fields, at the forefront of which consolidating the role of sustainability and enabling continuous effort, expressing pride in the achievements implemented by Arab countries to promote sustainable life and innovative solutions to current and future challenges.
In their interventions on “Sustainability, an eye on the future”, which was held via Zoom platform, APC members pointed out that the Arab world is full of creative and successful projects at all levels, thriving minds and human potential that It is pursued by Arab countries and peoples to achieve their ambitions for sustainability in all resources, and this reflects on the prosperity of societies and the development of services.
The session, which lasted for nearly two and a half hours, was chaired by the child, Rataj Al Absi, the head of APC from the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The session was attended by sixty-eight male and female members representing seventeen Arab countries.
The third session of the second session of the Arab Parliament for the Child, began with a speech by His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for the Child, welcoming the members in the United Arab Emirates, and the Emirate of Sharjah, the permanent headquarters of the Arab Parliament for the Child. He welcomed members to the third session of the second session of the Arab Parliament for the Child, which was held via zoom, taking into account the precautionary and preventive measures of the repercussions of the Corona pandemic.
Ayman Othman Al Barout conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The session interventions made by male and female APC members were about the role of sustainability in protecting the land and ecosystems, providing standards of development in the educational and health fields, as well as protecting access to natural resources and making good use of them. APC members proved their ability to raise and discuss issues that concern them, including environment and development projects.
The children members expressed their opinion and listened to each other, emphasising in their interventions the importance of consolidating innovation in all areas of sustainability, raising awareness about preserving the environment, in addition to enhancing the role of children and their contribution in this field, providing different technologies to develop children’s skills and their contribution to sustainability.
They pointed out the importance of sustainability and the need for all efforts through Arab solidarity in order to promote and support sustainable life among Arab societies.
The members suggested organising conferences and fora to enable children and youth to present their ideas and projects in the areas of sustainability, as well as allocating prizes for the best innovative programmes in sustainability and using Arab programmers to employ technical programmes that help sustainability and tightening laws that preserve the environment.
