Sharjah24: The Traffic and Patrols Department at the Sharjah Police General Command launched a traffic awareness campaign in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior’s campaign “Your Commitment to Your Safety” aimed at enhancing traffic awareness among motorists, and demonstrating the importance of adhering to the various traffic regulations that guarantee their safety, lives, and their properties.
Lieutenant-Colonel Omar Bughanim, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, pointed out that the campaign, which was launched in conjunction with the campaign of the Ministry of Interior, "demonstrates the negative repercussions, as a result of not following the traffic regulations and instructions that enhance road safety."
Lt. Col. Bughanim explained that the Federal Traffic and Traffic Law and its implementing regulations indicated that the wrongdoer will be liable to a fine of /600/ dirhams and 6/ traffic points, while the driver who commits a violation of not giving way to vehicles that have the priority of the next road shall be punished. From behind or from the left side, you will be fined /400/ dirhams.
The Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department stressed that the police leaderships in the UAE are uniting their security efforts to maintain the safety and security of drivers and pedestrians on the roads.
