Sharjah24: Being held on Sunday with taking all the necessary precautionary and preventive measures, the "40th edition of the Ministry of Interior Shooting Championship ", which came under the patronage of Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and organised by the Police Sports Association at the Ministry of Interior, is hosted by Sharjah Police in Khudeira Camp ranges in Sharjah.
The Activities of the Championship will run until the 24th of February, with the participation of 11 teams from the various leaderships of the Ministry of the Interior in the country, in addition to the participation of the teams of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain.
The championship includes 420 competitors, across 12 fields.
The launch of the championship was attended by Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director-General of the Sharjah Police Science Academy, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Police Shooting Championship in Sharjah, Brigadier General Aref Al Rayes, Director of the Police Sports Federation Department in the Ministry, Brigadier Dr. Omar Al Khayal from the Ministry of Interior, and Colonel Essam Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the Sports Training Center in Abu Dhabi Police , and a number of officers of the Ministry of Interior and the Sharjah Police.
Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani has lauded the organization of the Championship, highlighting its achieved successes during the last editions, reflecting the keenness of the Ministry of Interior and its agencies in accomplishing this sport communication, contributing in promoting the exchange of experiences, refining and developing the capabilities of the Ministry’s employees, enhancing competitiveness and teamwork, and ensuring readiness to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior.
For his part, Brigadier General Aref Al Rayes has expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, for his support and interest in the tournaments organised by the Police Union, extending sincere thanks to the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and the Higher Organising Committee of the Championship for providing all capabilities and facilities to ensure the success of the tournament. He has further stressed the Police Sports Federation’s keenness to develop police sports and support the police elements in the country.
