Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) pays a lot of attention to conducting research and social studies that help understand problems or phenomena and their causes, and thus find appropriate solutions, as they are conducted through the Knowledge Department, which was established in 2010 to carry out research and social studies in line with the needs of society to enrich services.

Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Director of Knowledge Department, stated that the Studies and Research Department is concerned with conducting research and studies for any social variables or phenomena in Sharjah, developing solutions for them and following them up. Studies are also carried out in response to requests received from officials, or to measure the effectiveness of a particular service previously.

Al Hammadi indicates that the Knowledge Department conducts 5 research annually, based on the research plan that determines the priorities of study and research, or what emerges from the presence of emergent phenomena and matters such as the impact of Covid on families, where several researches related to this aspect were conducted.

The director of knowledge management explained , as the outputs, results and recommendations contained in each study are taken advantage of and transferred to concerned parties or transferred to decision makers to set social development plans.

Al Hammadi points out that there is a great tendency towards interest in research and studies nowadays more than in previous times, which institutions and society in general can benefit from. It is worth noting that any study or research issued by us, the Department of Government Communication in the Department sends it to all universities and relevant institutions inside and outside Sharjah.
