SIH, Syrian Ministry of Culture discuss joint cooperation

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) received a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Culture and the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Arab Emirates, to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides in the field of intangible cultural heritage, and to hold joint events celebrating the common heritage of the two brotherly countries.
The delegation included Dr. Labana Al-Mushawah, Syrian Minister of Culture,  Dr. Ghassan Abbas, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the UAE,  Kenan Zahreddine, Consul General of the Syrian Arab Republic who were received by  Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Muslim, President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, in addition to Aisha Al-Hussan Al-Shamsi, Director of the Institute's Arab Heritage Center, and Khawla Saeed Al-Shamsi, Director of Public Relations and Protocols.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, expressed his pleasure to  receive the Syrian Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Al-Mushawah, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Ghassan Abbas, and His Excellency the Consul General, Kinan Zahreddine, as they were guests of the Institute on a private visit, to discuss its aspects. Cooperation and building bilateral relations in the field of intangible cultural heritage in particular, as well as in other fields such as printing and publishing.

Dr. Al-Musallam added: "We accompanied her Excellency and the accompanying delegation on a tour through the Institute's various departments and administrations, and Her Excellency expressed her admiration for the possibilities available in the Institute, its role and its position, and also expressed her desire for there to be great cooperation between the Institute and the Syrian institutions concerned with cultural heritage.

For her part, the Syrian Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Al-Mushawah, expressed her pride in being at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, praising the prestigious institute that enjoys a global reputation for what it has provided and offers for heritage, preservation and sustainability.

Her Excellency added: "We have discussed with His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Musallam, President of the Institute, to find out the possible prospects for cooperation between the Ministry represented by the Intangible Heritage Directorate and the Institute, and we are confident that this cooperation will be fruitful and distinguished, and in the coming days we will exchange publications, and we will have Joint projects and works, including training and qualification of cadres in Syria on the protection and preservation of cultural heritage.
