Sharjah24: Municipal Affairs, Agriculture, and Livestock Department organised the second Municipal Forum for the heads of municipal councils and municipal managers at Al Suhab Rest Area in Khorfakkan with the aim of enhancing cooperation and laying the foundations for developing joint relations to serve the emirate and provide highly competitive services.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Khalifa Musabeh Al Tunaiji, member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and head of the department, heads of municipal councils and directors of municipalities in the emirate.
At the beginning of the forum, His Excellency the Head of the Department welcomed the heads of municipal councils and municipal managers, pointing out that each of the Department, municipal councils and municipalities is keen to develop the system of services provided to customers, and keep pace with the digital transformation and the great renaissance witnessed by the emirate.
His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Musabeh Al Tunaiji, Head of the Department, explained that the forum aims to review the achievements of the Department and the municipalities for the past year, and to exchange ideas, development proposals and future projects that support the road map and work plans for the current year.
His Excellency added that, on the sidelines of the forum, a project for the unification and development of municipal services for the engineering and building sectors in the various municipalities of the emirate was reviewed, through a unified platform, which was approved by the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah. Employees of various municipalities, and heralds a boom in the municipal work system and a reduction in the time for completing transactions to 8 working hours.
Al Tunaiji added that the project will enter the service effectively and completely, by the end of February, through the Sharjah digital platform.
At the end of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. M. Khalifa Musabeh Al Tunaiji, Head of the Department, thanked all the heads of municipal councils and directors of municipalities for attending the meeting, and stressed the importance of enhancing communication and understanding and developing joint work between the Department, municipalities and various government bodies, institutions and departments. He also indicated that the Department plan has been developed to repeat such meetings periodically in order to achieve good repercussions on various aspects of work and to raise the level of coordination between the various councils, municipalities and their employees.
