AASTS starts the spring semester

Induction programmes were held for new students to determine the theoretical and practical study methods. AASTS affirmed the continuation of applying all precautionary measures to prevent the Covid-19, in accordance with the standards and recommendations of the concerned authorities in the UAE, as well as the need for students and faculty members to adhere to the continuity of conducting PCR tests in order to be present on the university campus.

Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Faraj, President of AASTS, said the Academy aims to strengthen the Arab maritime industry with qualified academic professionals. AASTS will be a continuous source to provide qualified academic expertise from the UAE and other neighbouring countries to meet the growing need for national professionals in this vital sector, which is a pillar of the region’s economy and maritime security, whereas AASTS contributes to providing the maritime sector with advanced capabilities in the field of scientific research and development, in addition to providing continuous training services for the employees of shipping companies, through the specialised scientific competencies that work in the academy, in a way that enhances the investment environment in the maritime sector in the region.

Abdul Ghaffar added AASTS in Sharjah is the largest and mostwell-equipped branch in the UAE, and is comparable to the finest marine and academic educational institutions in the world.
Abdul Ghaffar explained that studying at the Academy provides students with the opportunity to enter the maritime field, which opens to a world without limits of adventure, ambition and benefit, It is reinforced by teaching leadership skills and building a disciplined personality capable of facing challenges and turning them into opportunities for success and excellence.
