Sharjah 24: Mleiha Sports Club provided players a campaign to raise their awareness on the different phenomena of bullying within the framework of goals aiming to consolidate and promote correct behaviours and values.
The awareness campaign was included in a lecture organised yesterday evening in cooperation with Sharjah Police General Command under the “Playgrounds Do Not Bully”.
Fifty players attended the lecture, which was held at the club's headquarters, along with the training and administrative staff of the U-14 and 16-year-old football team, as part of the awareness lectures aimed at combating negative phenomena and behaviours harmful to children.
The lecture was implemented within the framework of the goals of the Cultural and Community Service Committee, and the vision drawn by the committee headed by Abdullah Baajid Al Ketbi, with the aim of achieving positive goals in the hearts of the players.
The lecture was presented by First Assistant Yasser Muhammad Alai from Sharjah Police General Command and focused on educating players about the concepts and dangers of bullying, especially inside stadiums and gyms. The lecture also raised their awareness on the dangers of such behaviour, and its negative impact on the player, the individual, the family and the community, as well as on the importance of following the safe procedures in dealing with sportsmanship.
First Assistant Yasser Muhammad Alai tackled a number of the lecture topics, including the definition of bullying, types of bullying, addressing bullying in stadiums, legislation, laws, and morals that combat bullying.
At the end of the lecture, First Assistant Yasser Muhammad Alai discussed an important topic entitled “Our playgrounds as we want them to be”.
