Sharjah 24: Mleiha Sports Club launched the fiftieth marathon, as part of the club's initiatives to organise the fiftieth National Day celebrations.

Mleiha Sports Club invited those wishing to participate in the marathon, entitled “the fiftieth marathon” and was divided into four categories aiming at attracting all segments.

The categories included the under 14-year old, from 14 to 20, 20 to 40, and 40 and above. A prize was awarded to the oldest and youngest participants, and the race started at a distance of 3 km, where the finish line was at Mleiha Sports Club.

The race saw a remarkable participation, whereas cooperation, organisation and coordination with the competent authorities were succeddful and impressing. 

At the end of the 50th marathon, the winners were honoured in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Al Ajid Al Ketbi, Head of the Cultural and Community Service Committee, Captain Faisal Al Hammadi, Supervisor of the Sports Administration, Captain Badr Al Mazmi, Assistant Supervisor of the Sports Administration, and the club's coaches and employees.

Abdullah Al Ajid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Cultural and Community Service Committee, confirmed that the success of the race came under the guidance of His Excellency Muhammad Sultan Al Khasooni, Chairman of the Board of Directors. The race aimed at organising a sports programme along the UAE celebrations of this national occasion.
 
Abdullah Al Ajid Al Ketbi commended the cooperation of community members attending the race, which reflects the importance of sports as a lifestyle.
