Sharjah24: The Health Affairs, Labour and Social Affairs Committee of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) reviewed the efforts of the two branches of the Social Services Department (SSD) in Dibba Al-Hisn (DAH) and Khorfakkan in the context of its visits to the Department's branches to review the provided services.
The committee learned about the responsibilities of the two branches of the department during a visit made by the committee, including several dignitaries, on Tuesday morning to each of the Department’s branch in Dibba Al-Hisn and the department’s branch in Khorfakkan, shedding light of the branches’ various societal roles towards all segments of society.
The committee’s visiting delegation was received by the members from both of the department’s branches in Dibba Al-Hisn and Khorfakkan.
During the two visits, the committee examined what the department provides in its two branches, in terms of treatment, preventive and developmental social services in the field of security, care and protection.
The members raised a number of inquiries about the various services of the two branches, communicating with citizens, examining their conditions and following up on their social affairs.
At the end of the visit, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Musa Al Balushi, Chairman of the Health Affairs, Labour and Social Affairs Committee of the Council, indicated that the visit to the branch of the Social Services Department in Khorfakkan and Dibba Al-Hisn came within the committee’s plan during the review the departments’ performances in terms of services and works.
