“Rubu' Qarn ” launches a theatre and performing arts project

Sharjah 24: The Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating future Leaders and Innovators organised a virtual event entitled “The Open Day of the Rubu' Qarn Project for Theater and Performing Arts” coinciding with the Arab Theater Day.
The event aimed to unify the efforts of the affiliated institutions: Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, and Sharjah for Capability Development, with the aim of preparing a database of professionals in the theatre and performing arts fields; establishing working groups in training centres; in addition to strengthening future partnerships by introducing and developing various training programmes and innovative activities that contribute to the development of the talents and capabilities of children, adolescents, and youth, in the presence of the affiliates, parents and a number of the audience interested in theatre and performing arts.

“The Open Day of the Rubu' Qarn  Project for Theater and Performing Arts” programme included a film about the pilot phase of the project, implemented with the four institutions, during the fourth quarter of 2021, and the announcement of a set of programmes and competitions that suit target groups from 6 to 31 years old during the current year 2022.

“The Open Day of the Rubu' Qarn Project for Theater and Performing Arts” saw the announcement of the winning texts in the writing competition for Youth Theater 2021.

In this regard, Mr. Khalid Al Nakhi, Acting Director of Sharjah for Capability Development, said that it is the first integrative path that brings together the four institutions, and hopefully it will be a successful path impacting positively the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating future Leaders and Innovators.

Ms. Aisha Ali Al Kaabi, Acting Director of Sharjah Children, commented on the day saying that the event is an opportunity to learn about the opinions of a group of theatre experts and specialists in theatre about the presented programmes, and to learn about the details of the projects and artistic initiatives for the year 2022, which will lead to integration with the institutions that fall under the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation to work together under one umbrella.

It is worth noting that the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating future Leaders and Innovators, launched in September 2016 under the generous directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating future Leaders and Innovators, is the first Emirati, Arab and regional institution that aims to build an Emirati generation capable of leading and influencing the future, while committed to their national identity.
