Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, received a delegation from Media Regulatory Office (MRO) of the Ministry of Culture and Youth headed Dr. Rashid Khalfan Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the office.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed affirmed Sharjah’s keenness to implement the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at supporting families, as society segment, and enhancing their stability.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed stressed media content should be purposeful and useful without compromising the values and principles of society which should be protected from extraneous phenomena that might violate the original values.
The meeting discussed several matters related to the media, such as licensing and censorship in Sharjah; in addition to plans that enhance media role in supporting families and society.
The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah was briefed on detailed on the mechanism of classifying cinematic films in the UAE by the Executive Director of the Media Regulatory Office.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, President of Sharjah Media City "Shams", Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council.
