The championship aims to spread the culture of sports among the handicapped and to discover their different talents.
The championship is a continuation of the activities of the 50th Sports Initiative, which was launched to coincide with the UAE’s golden Jubilee celebrations, organised by the Sports and Social Activities Department of the Media and Public Relations Department at the Sharjah Police.
The championship saw exciting high-level competitions between sports teams from different police departments in the Command.
Sharjah Police Sciences Academy won first place, while the General Department of Central Operations team won second place, and the General Administration of Police Operations team won the third place.
At the end of the event, Brigadier General Arif Mohammed Al Sharif, honoured the first three places at the team level, stressing the keenness of the Sharjah Police to include sports events for people with determination who use wheelchairs, and encourage them to exercise.
On the sidelines of the event, Brigadier General Al Sharif honoured Al Thiqah Club for Handicapped in Sharjah, represented by Ahmed Al Mazloum, the Executive Director of the club. He also honoured the Dubai Club for People of Determination, being the effective and cooperating partners of success of the championship.
