Sharjah 24: The activities of the 10th Al Hamriyah Festival for Children, organised by the Social Services Department in the Heritage Village of Al Hamriyah Municipality in Sharjah, have started and will continue until December 23.
The 10th Al Hamriyah Festival for Children aims to attract children and their families with a package of entertainment games, cultural competitions, educational workshops, and handicrafts, in addition to displaying the products of productive families.

The festival is a family event awaited by Al Hamriyah community, especially since it coincides with the school holiday, in addition to its inclusion of many events, activities and programmes that attract adults and children alike, including the elderly from the Asala Club.

According to Maryam Majid Al Shamsi, director of Al Hamriyah branch, the festival is being organised for the tenth year in a row, and coincides with the school winter holiday to attract children and their families with recreational games, cultural competitions, educational workshops, handicrafts, and displaying products for productive families.

Al Shamsi stated that the festival aims to help families and provide a beautiful and useful atmosphere at the same time, for children. The Supreme Council for Family Affairs and the Sharjah Institute for Heritage present artistic, educational and heritage workshops throughout the 12 days of the festival.

The events also include educational programmes organised by the Health Education Department with panel discussions on family planning, customs and traditions, which are open to the public.

It is worth noting that the annual Al Hamriyah Festival for Children was held remotely last year due to the Corona pandemic.
