Sharjah24: A coffee bazaar is being held for the first time at Sharjah Heritage Museum (SHM), under Sharjah Museums Authority, between December 14 and 17 with an aim to connect the past of coffee to its present and bring attention to the coffee culture in the country and the world.
The four-day event will offer public members a lineup of interactive competitions and activities including discussions by experts to address the importance of the beverage and how its prepared.
A number of workshops that are geared toward children and families including traditional games and painting using coffee will also be part of the event.
Visitors will get a taste of different types of coffee at a number of coffeehouses taking part in the bazaar while also being offered the chance to use coffee as a calligraphy ink to write their names everyday between 9:00am-11:00am and 4:00pm-8:00pm every day.
A discussion led by Abdullah Al Kaabi, director of Al Ramsa Institute will address vocabulary and phrases associated with coffee on December 15 at 10:00am.
At 4:30pm, the following day, heritage expert Abdullah Al Hamour talks about coffee between the present and the past in the UAE.
The accompanying activities will kick off at 8:00am and continue until 8:00pm.
