Sharjah24: With the launch of National Week for the Prevention of Bullying in the School Environment, which was launched by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and 28 federal and local institutions 5 years ago, the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), organised a virtual meeting under the title "Verbal bullying and its impact on children".
Maryam Al-Qaseer, Director of the Department of Social Education, stated that based on the Ministry of Education directives, this week should be on verbal bullying, as it is one of the most dangerous attitude affecting children.
Al-Qusayr adds, bullying in psychology is one of the forms of aggressive behavior in which a person intentionally and repeatedly causes discomfort to another person, whether that behavior is physical or linguistic with words or any other actions, and its known types: physical such as hitting, damaging property, pushing strongly, electronic bullying through techniques such as text messages, social media platforms and games on the Internet.
At the conclusion of her lecture, Al-Qusayr presented a set of recommendations to parents to deal with this issue and to take care of the matter seriously, highlighting the importance of supporting the child by thanking and expressing their appreciation for him.
