Sharjah 24: In celebration of the United Arab Emirates fiftieth National Day, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) organised a special programme for this occasion, which included many artistic and heritage segments that reflected the Emirati heritage over half a century.
His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, said that the UAE National Day is a source of pride, strength, and an embodiment of the nations’ determination and unity, and that the second of December represents the vision of a leadership that knows that the future is possible.

His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam  added that the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and the founding fathers succeeded, with their solidarity to establish a state that realised a decent life and sustainable development for all citizens and residents, and at the same time, the UAE, has become a beacon of tolerance and coexistence between different cultures and nations.

His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam  pointed that the wise leadership is keen to provide all forms of support for heritage, as it is an essential component of the national identity, therefore SIH is responsible to preserve heritage highlighting the UAE role globally. His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam  added that the Sharjah Institute for Heritage is carrying out its practical and academic tasks with efficiency and competence, with the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, patron of culture, heritage, science and knowledge.

Ahmed Salem Al Bairaq, Director of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage's Institutional Communication Department, said that SIH is keen to celebrate the UAE National Day remembering the path of the founding leaders and building on what has been achieved.

Ahmed Salem Al Bairaq added that SIH celebration this year comes with a special flavor, whereas the UAE proudly folded fifty years, and began to establish the next fifty years. In the first fifty, the UAE reached space, and in the next fifty, it will achieve more and more.

Sharjah Institute for Heritage saw a number of exhibitions accompanying the programme, which attracted a remarkable turnout from the public and visitors, most notably, an exhibition inspired by heritage, implemented by Ms. Mona Al Makhshab, which is an exhibition of decorations and inscriptions used in old houses, with the participation of the Institute’s branch in Kalba.
