Sharjah24: As part of the UAE Golden Jubilee celebration programme approved by the Sharjah National Day Celebrations Committee, the festivities start on Monday at Sharjah National Park (SNP), Al Dhaid, and Wadi Al Helo (AAH) with a dazzling variety of heritage, cultural and artistic activities promoting Emirati traditions and heritage on this special occasion.
Sharjah National Park will host the National Day activities until December 3, allowing visitors to enjoy performances by folk bands as well as traditional games. Also, there will be spectacular music and laser shows at the fountain, theatre performances, and henna decorations. Live performers will form part of tableaux that symbolise National Day.
The National Day parade will be held in Al Dhaid at 8 am, with music performances and traditional dances. In the evening, the committee has prepared an array of festive activities that include folk performances, traditional shows and Emirati patriotic songs, in addition to competitions and a panel themed ‘Dam Ezak Ya Watan’ that will recall the Union’s history and achievements. National Day activities will continue in Al Dhaid until December 1.
Performances by the popular Dibba Al Harbiya band will be the highlight of the celebrations in Wadi Al Helo, which will include a workshop on patriotism and pledging allegiance to the country. Visitors will also be able to observe and learn about falcons, the bird regarded as a national symbol of Emirati heritage, at a falconry book exhibition.
