Sharjah 24: In the presence of Ali Mehad Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), accompanied by His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary General of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), the Committee of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Facilities at SCC, held its meeting, in the council hall, and discussed its various roles to complete the work of the current parliamentary session.
The committee was briefed on its work mechanisms and proposals, and took the appropriate decisions, in addition to following up on various issues of interest to society and affecting issues of interest to citizens.
The committee stressed the continuation of its role, especially with regard to following up the performance of government departments and their roles in community service and the level of their services.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Chairman of SCC praised the efforts of the Chairman and members of the Committee of Islamic affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Facilities at SCC, for what they had provided during the past two sessions, expressing the SCC’s appreciation for the efforts of His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Tunaiji, who requested to excused from chairing the committee due to his health conditions, wishing him a speedy recovery.
In turn, His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Tunaiji thanked SCC’s Chairman and all members of the Council and the General Secretariat for their great role. He also praised the role of the members of the committee and their efforts in all the work of the committee over the past period, wishing the committee to continue its role and effort in serving the Emirate and to accept his request due to his health conditions.
Then, according to the law establishing the SCC and its bylaws, the chairman of the committee was re-elected by secret ballot, His Excellency Obaid Awad Al Tunaiji was elected as the chairman of the committee to complete the work of the committee during the tenth legislative term.
