The tournaments will see sizable participation and several competitions, where approximately 350 players from 8 clubs will participate.
Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, stated that the two tournaments are part of the SSC plans to develop talents, and are held throughout the year, aiming at developing players abilities and increasing the sense of belonging to their clubs and the national team, based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, that sports have a comprehensive educational message, and that values and principles are instilled from a young age.
Mr Nabil Muhammad Ashour, Director of the Sports and Development Affairs Department, said that the volleyball championship for juniors under 12 years old, was launched after canceling the General League Championship for this category due to the Corona pandemic. 6 clubs will participate in the volleyball championship, Al Bataeh, Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Maliha, Khorfakkan and Ittihad Kalba.
Mr Nabil Muhammad Ashour added that 8 clubs will participate in the handball championship, Sharjah, Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Maliha, Ittihad Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn, Khorfakkan and Al Bataeh.
