Sharjah24: The General Command of Sharjah Police discussed, in a remote knowledge symposium, the challenges of cyber security, organised by the Law Respect Culture Office in the General Secretariat of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, with the participation of a number of specialists in Sharjah Police.
The symposium aimed to exchange knowledge experiences in the field of cybersecurity, as it is one of the security risks that pose a threat to members of society and institutions, especially in light of the information revolution taking place in various sectors, and the related risks of unsafe use of the information network in threatening informational assets and data.

The symposium, which included three topics (electronic addiction, cyberbullying, and cybercrime), was attended by Lt. Col. Abdul Rahman Khalfan Al Khayal, Head of the District Councils Affairs Department at Sharjah Police, and Major Sultan bin Taliah, Head of Organised Crime Department at the Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police along with a number of Sharjah Police members.

First Lieutenant Tali’a Saleh Al-Saadi, sparked light on psychological effects of electronic, the negative impact in daily life, and the role of parents in addressing this issue , noting the importance of following up and monitoring the content that children watch, and not rely on technology at all times, especially in times of entertainment and family gatherings.

The speakers called on members of society to make the most of social media in the positive aspects of life, the need for family control in protecting children, and the importance of gaining their trust, as they are the first target for the weak-minded in the electronic network.
