Sharjah24: In a press conference organised at its headquarters on Tuesday evening, Al Hamriyah Cultural & Sports Club (AHCSC) revealed the completion of all the preparations for organising and hosting the 1st edition of the Gulf Beach Sprint Championship (GBSC), which will be launched on the 19th of November over two continuous days on Al Hamriyah Beach of the Emirate of Sharjah.
During the conference, the attendees also revealed the organisation of the 1st Arab Beach Sprint Championship (ABSC) on the 25th of November and over a period of three days on Al Hamriyah Beach.
The press conference, which was attended by the media, highlihgted the great interest of the Sharjah Sports Council in the Government of Sharjah in promoting the success of the two championships at Al Hamriyah Club, under the generous sponsorship of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, stressing on Sharjah’s a clear interest to promote the in water sports and emphasising the significance of the two events for the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Sharjah.
During the conference, the attendees stressed the importance of highlighting the joint work with all the partners to ensure the well organisation and previous preparation, contributing in achieving the success at all levels.
His Excellency Abdul Malik Jani, Vice Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council stressed the completion of all the arrangements and preparation, after discussing various ideas and remarkable coordination between the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation and the Gulf and Arab federations to improve the organisational efficiency and provide all logistical capabilities.
For his part, His Excellency Jumaa Obaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriya Cultural and Sports Club, Vice Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee and supervisor of the two championships, indicated that this organisation is the culmination of a journey that the club has made for more than a decade in the interest in water sports and the rehabilitation of players who are members of the national team and representatives of the state in all external participations.
Commenting on this, Aref Al-Hangari, President of the Emirates Sailing and Rowing Federation, spoke about the importance of the two championships, being the largest in the Gulf and Arab world, in light of the competition of countries to qualify their players to participate in their competitions.
Al-Hangari extended his sincere thanks and great gratitude to the Sharjah Sports Council in the Government of Sharjah and Al Hamriya Cultural and Sports Club, lauding their efforts to adopt several interesting events.
