Sharjah 24: His Excellency Dr. Issa Al Hammadi, Director of Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States (ALECGS) in Sharjah, an affiliate of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) participated remotely in the 89th meeting of the ABEGS Executive Council.
The Chairman of the Executive Council, Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman, opened the meeting and stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic and its repercussions are among the most prominent challenges that the whole world has faced during the past period, and that ABEGS was not immune from such challenges.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Assimi, Director General of ABEGS, stated that ABEGS implemented seventy-eight programmes, according to the highest levels of quality, and more than eighteen events, seminars and workshops on the repercussions of the pandemic and impact on education, and possible solutions to overcome its effects.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Assimi added that within the areas of cooperation with regional and international bodies and organisations, ABEGS became a member of the advisory body for the Global Monitoring Report, and implemented a number of events with UNESCO and the Regional Centre for Educational Planning, on the regional and international scale.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Assimi noted that ABEGS has also translated studies and reports published by international organisations, in line with the ABEGS vision, programmes and activities
In turn, Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States (ALECGS) in Sharjah, reviewed the efforts of the Centre in Sharjah and at the level of the United Arab Emirates, and the different programmes it offers.
Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hammadi touched on all the publications presented by ALECGS, which support the efforts of the Ministries of Education in addition to participation in book fairs and other events and seminars that have been implemented.
