Sharjah24: The Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States (ALECGS) at its headquarters in Sharjah witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Arab Academics and Scientists Union (AASU), aiming to strengthen the joint cooperation between the two parties and promote the protection of the Arabic language.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday morning by Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of the Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States (ALECGS) in Sharjah; and Dr. Saif Al Jabri, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Academics and Scientists, at the center's headquarters in the city of Sharjah.
The joint agreement comes in line with the efforts made to enhance the development, learning and protection of the Arabic language, highlighting the important role and partnership between community institutions to underscore the impotence of preserving the Arabic language. The agreement also aims to promote the development and implementation of programs to raise awareness of the importance of the Arabic language and its role in strengthening identity and national belonging.
The agreement contributes also to enhance cooperation in the implementation of research, studies and development programs for the Arabic language at the center, and the optimal investment of services and resources to achieve the enormous ambitions.
The agreement will work in accordance with its articles to develop an integrated work plan and future programs for the effective contribution between the two parties in achieving their goals.
The cooperation would allow the organisation of seminars, conferences and workshops that serve the Arabic language and enhance its presence and spread awareness of its importance, enhancing ways of cooperation between the various institutions and bodies concerned with the teaching and serviing the Arabic language at the level of the Gulf states. It also provides opportunities for exchanging experiences, in addition to mutual coordination on projects, activities, events or training courses implemented or intended to be implemented by one of the parties.
The two parties also agreed to form a "joint committee" to activate the terms of the agreement.
