Sharjah Youth Innovate in 'Above the Earth, Under the Sky'

Sharjah 24: Members of the Sharjah Youth affiliated with the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators presented an art show entitled "Above the Earth, Under the Sky" after the puppet arts programme on Saturday, October 23, which was organised by the Foundation for nearly 8 months, in cooperation with the Emirates Center for Puppetry Arts - at the Theatrical Association headquarters in the heart of Sharjah. In the distinguished presence of Dr. Ismail Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Theatrical Association, Emirati artist Marei Al-Halyan, member of the Board of Directors of the Theatrical Association and the official of the Emirates Center for Puppet Arts, Ms. Fatima Al Jallaf, Acting Director of the Performing Arts Department at the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and Ms. Mozah Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of Sharjah Youth, and a crowd of people interested in the artistic and theatrical field.
This presentation comes as an outcome of the Puppet Arts Programme for Youth, a long academic training programme that lasted for nearly eight months with a set of workshops. The most important workshops are the completion of the show and the basics of the shadow workshop. In-depth knowledge from the Sharjah Youth affiliates of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Wademah Law, and the "Salam Ya Segar" campaign, and the prominent role of the Emirate of Sharjah institutions such as Sharjah, a friendly city for children and youth and the Big Heart Foundation. Writing, design, and artistic execution, presenting a summary of their experiences to young people until they are qualified to create and create a creative show that combines acting scenes and shadow fantasy scenes with their designs, performance, and animation.

More than 28 participants participated in the Puppet Arts Programme, while the final show was presented by 14 participants, who are:

Puppetry Arts and Shadow Imagination programme are by presented director Adnan Salloum, supervisor of the performing arts course in Sharjah youth, accompanied by a group of specialised trainers from inside and outside the country. In addition to Sharjah Youth graduate Ali Al Mazmi, assistant trainer in the puppet arts program 'Basic of Shadow Workshop,' in an attempt From Sharjah Youth Center to provide the opportunity for its distinguished graduates to transfer their acquired skills to their peers.

Dr Ismail Abdullah, after watching the show, said: 'Today, I am pleased with the level of art that these young men have reached in terms of commitment and creativity that makes us bet on the future that the theatre will continue to breathe and present its message.' He presented a message to the participating youth, "Very happy that you are at this age and insist that you perform these arts. You follow the youth of Sharjah, but you are old in your choice, and I salute you and salute all young people." Today, a very wonderful performance with concise and good capabilities in challenging performances and type of theatre, which is a puppet show, and I hope to see them in more participations and festivals in the future.'

As Emirati artist Maree Al-Halyan expressed, "The show that youth presented today is a great work, especially it represents the issue of refugees, the issue of asylum, and the issue of children suffering from the diaspora in the world, and it is beautiful that it is presented by young people who felt this issue, and this is a humanitarian issue."
