Sharjah 24: The Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, the new Roman colosseum-style masterpiece and cultural destination on Sharjah’s picturesque East Coast, is looking forward to hosting popular Kuwaiti singer Abdullah Al-Ruwaished and legendary Assala Nasri of Syria on Friday, October 29.
Al-Ruwaished and Assala, two of the brightest stars of Arabic music, cannot wait to treat music lovers to a beautiful symphony of their most popular songs that have immortalised their name in the world of Gulf-Arab culture.
An excited Al Ruwaished, who is known as the ‘Ambassador of Gulf Song’ and enjoys massive popularity across the region, said: “My beloved fans in the UAE, especially in Khorfakkan and Sharjah…I cannot wait to sing and celebrate with you the best of Arabic and Gulf music and beautiful melody, at the new and beautiful Khorfakkan Amphitheatre. I am truly excited and honoured to be one of the first singers to perform in Khorfakkan and share this iconic stage with the wonderful Assala Nasri”.
The legendary Syrian singer, Assala, celebrated as the authentic voice of Arabic music, responded by saying: “I promised you that I would return soon. Sharjah represents beautiful memories and unforgettable magic for me, and now I return once again with love to sing in Khorfakkan and share with you what is in my heart…my most beautiful songs with songs and melodies. I share this success with my friend, dear Abu Khaled, Abdullah Al-Ruwaished”.

Safe seating, strict health checks
The organisers, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, have emphasised that strict preventive health measures have been put in place against the COVID-19. In addition to ensuring safe seating observing social distancing and sanitation, a negative report on the Al Hosn mobile app is necessary as part of the green traffic system in order to maintain the public safety.
The Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, an architectural wonder built in December 2020 as a gateway to art, culture, creativity, music and theatre arts, aims to provide an integrated experience, featuring a wide range of artistic and cultural events and activities, film shows, concerts and theatrical performances.
The one of its kind facility seeks to be a world-class destination for classical and contemporary arts, and to cater to all members of society. It is built on an area of 80,000 square feet, and can accommodate around 3,600 spectators. Combining the best of Roman architectural design and Islamic civilizational heritage, the Amphitheatre is an exceptional landmark and icon, overlooking the Khorfakkan beach from its location in the heart of the Said Mountains. Next to the Cave Waterfall, it has emerged as an attraction and destination for both residents and tourists.
