Al Hamriyah Municipality declared age-friendly institution

Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Municipality received a special honour from Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), following being entitled an age-friendly institution, in light of fulfilling all the requirements, conditions and criteria for winning the title.
Sharjah age-friendly office at SSSD honoured Al Hamriyah Municipality in an event organised within the framework of the initiative second session, ensuring the integration of efforts among all parties to meet the requirements of age-friendly institutions.

Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, stated that the municipality and all staff are proud of such achievement that supports all efforts and directives in Sharjah, and implements standards required for the age-friendly institutions within the framework of adopting global practices with regard to the elderly.

Al Shamsi explained that the municipality tended to form teams to implement the standards and requirements for age-friendly institutions, focusing on three main axes, namely, the structural design of the building, facilities services, empowerment, integration and participation, noting that Al Hamriyah Municipality did not hesitate to harness all efforts within the framework of Its societal commitment to meet these requirements and work to keep pace with business to win the title of age-friendly institution.

Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi stated that Al Hamriyah Municipality has taken it upon itself to work under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of supporting Sharjah in providing the finest services and enabling the elderly to benefit from municipal services reinforced by the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness, Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and in line with the directives of  Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, in providing the finest services, caring for the elderly and availing all municipal services to them.
