Al Hamriyah Municipality receives Dibba Al Hisn delegation

Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Municipality received a delegation from Dibba Al Hisn Municipality that was briefed on all the procedures followed to enable Al Hamriyah Municipality to meet all the standards and requirements of the International Blue Flag Programme.
The visit aimed at helping Sharjah beaches to receive the blue flag, in light of Dibba Al Hisn officials’ keenness to use and simulate Al Hamriyah Municipality experience to complete the qualification requirements.

Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality stated that the municipality is pleased with the constructive cooperation between all Sharjah municipalities and the United Arab Emirates. 

Al Shamsi added that the municipality is working to achieve integration and harmony under the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to continuously improve the general performance and ensure that Sharjah facilities attain a global rating in light of the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council.

In his presentation, Al Shamsi explained the mechanisms of administrative and technical preparations; the capabilities and efforts exerted to meet the strict standards of water quality; the environmental management, safety and services; and the timetable for completing the standards for Al Hamriyah Beach to obtain the blue flag.

Al Shamsi pointed out that Al Hamriyah Municipality will exert all efforts to provide expertise helping Sharjah beaches to obtain the blue flag, according to the leadership's vision, and turning Sharjah beaches into attractive tourist destinations enjoying beauty and comfort.

Al Shamsi informed the delegation of Dibba Al Hisn Municipality on the importance of obtaining the international "Blue Flag" programme qualification and the right to raise the flag on the beach. He shed light on raising the community and tourists’ environmental awareness, and providing sufficient information on the environmental systems and services available in addition to the rules and instructions that regulate work in the beach area. 

Al Shamsi concluded that it is vital to follow up on the chemical and physical aspects related to the quality of water, providing public safety and security, managing environmental risks, and providing beach services for people with disabilities that ensure their easy access to the beach smoothly and safely.
