Sharjah24: The Conservation Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed the installation of tools for water conservation in all 8 councils of the suburbs affiliated to Districts and Villages Affairs Department (DVAD) in Sharjah, which contributed to reducing water consumption by 67% and saving approximately 24,440 gallons of water per day.
Engineer Ghada Juma Salem, Director of the Conservation Department, explained that SEWA seeks to promote the values of social responsibility, protect the environment, preserve natural resources and ensure their sustainability by spreading awareness and taking the necessary measures to reduce water waste and treat leaks.

She emphasised that the authority provides all necessary support to government agencies in Sharjah by providing technical support and awareness programmes to rationalize energy and water consumption in all its buildings.
