‘Aman’ protects residents and property in Sharjah

Sharjah24: A security system contributed to providing the highest levels of protection and safety in Sharjah, following a fire in one of the apartments in the tower, which was equipped with Aman - a safety net supervised by the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, and implemented by SANED Facility Management.
Sheikh Eng. Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Prevention and Safety Authority in Sharjah, stated that the safety device contributes to protecting lives during a fire, and called on the owners of real estate and facilities in the Emirate of Sharjah to speed up registration in the system because of the many benefits that accrue to residents and properties alike.

“The importance of installing an early warning system "Aman" within the framework of the authority's commitment to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance the security of the population and protect lives and property. Sheikh Eng. Khalid expressed.

Sheikh Eng. Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi added that "Aman" is the system approved in the Emirate of Sharjah in accordance with Executive Council Resolution No. 20 of 2019, and the resolution requires industrial and commercial facilities and residential buildings to install the system to protect community members from fire hazards around the clock.

Aman, the safety device, connects the fire systems in the facilities to the Operations Room of the General Directorate of Civil Defense and the SANED Operations Room to reduce the response time to deal with fires. The safety device plays a vital role in contributing to the protection of the lives of residents.

Sultan Al Ketbi, CEO of SANED, owned by the Sharjah Asset Management Company, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, said that the safety device has achieved a quantum leap in the early detection of fires, and in contributing to the protection of individuals and property, and we call on everyone in Sharjah to take the initiative to install a safety device, in order to ensure their safety and the safety of their belongings from fire hazards.

SANED, provides facilities management services, building maintenance, and related technical services to commercial and government entities, in addition to energy management and sustainable initiatives, as part of its comprehensive services in the field of energy management and sustainability of buildings and facilities. In addition, the support team provides technical services specialised in the security and safety of installations and facilities.

Al Ketbi mentioned that among the results of joint work with these strategic partners, more than 6,940 safety devices were installed and registered in various regions of Sharjah, during the first half of this year, aligned with the team’s agenda and plan to cover all facilities, residential, commercial and industrial areas. Safety is mandatory for all facilities in the emirate, in the application of the highest levels of prevention and safety.

Captain Abdullah Al-Fuhaid, a resident of the tower who was exposed to a fire accident in one of his apartments, recounted the role and importance of a safety device in responding quickly and controlling the fire, saying that a small fire occurred in the tower, and the emergency and alarm bells worked. 

Immediately I received a call, as a member of the association in the tower, which means that there is a problem, as there were smells of smoke and fire in one of the apartments, and we informed the company. Quick action was taken to control the fire, as the relevant teams from the Civil Defense, SANED, the Prevention, Safety, and Ambulance Authority attended, and the fire was brought under control. He thanked and appreciated those parties that played a significant role in their missions and the preservation of lives and property.

"Aman" is the system approved in the Emirate of Sharjah, in accordance with Executive Council Resolution No. (20) of 2019, which requires industrial and commercial establishments and residential buildings to install a security system to protect community members from fire hazards around the clock. The system is linked to the operations room of the Civil Defense Department in Sharjah.
