Sharjah24: Business Continuity Committee was established and formed in the Emirate of Sharjah based on Executive Council Resolutions No. (30) and (31) of 2017, with the aim of cooperating with government agencies to ensure the continuity of providing their vital services. In addition, the Committee seeks to achieve the highest levels of readiness to support the emergency and crisis management system disasters in the emirate.
The “Business Continuity principle” lies in the authorities’ ability to continue to provide their vital services in the event that operations or activities are exposed to malfunctions, while “business continuity management” is based on identifying the procedures and measures taken by the authorities in order to continue providing their services and products necessary to society during emergencies, crises and disasters.

It is worth noting that the committee has prepared and presented the Business Continuity Committee programme for the concerned authorities in the Emirate to implement the approved national standards for business continuity, by holding a series of specialised workshops and courses in the field of business continuity management, as the program includes more than 50 government agencies in the Emirate, and the programme continues For 3 consecutive years (2021-2023).

Sheikh Eng. Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Prevention and Safety Authority and Chairman of the Business Continuity Committee in the Emirate of Sharjah, stressed that adopting the concept of business continuity in institutions has become a necessity to create a unified administrative work method to ensure the delivery of vital services and products to beneficiaries during emergency conditions, and this has become clear in light of The world has been exposed to the "Covid-19" pandemic, and government institutions and departments in the emirate continue to provide vital services to the public.
