Opening of monthly Friday market for sheep and birds in Khorfakkan

Sharjah24: The Khorfakkan Municipal Council opened the monthly Friday market for sheep and birds, after the suspension of its activities due to the outbreak of the corona pandemic, contributing in reopening the market to start again welcoming the public according to precautionary measures to preserve public health.
The Khorfakkan Municipal Council is studying the expansion of the market’s activities to include domestic goods and products that meet the needs of citizens and residents in the city.

Commenting on this, Mohamed Al Jawhari, Chairman of the Environment Committee in the Council, Chairman of the Market Organising Committee, announced the return of the market activity, starting from Friday, witnessing a remarkable turnout from the public after a seven-month hiatus, in line with the precautionary and preventive measures against the spread of the coronavirus.

In statements to “Sharjah 24”, he said that the market support the business of halal owners, enabling them to display and sell their sheep, goats and birds, in addition to providing space for families producing food commodities and other products.

He has highlihgted the Municipal Council's keenness to provide means of support for everything that would enhance livestock and meet the needs of the market, contributing in having further motivation to enhance the development and expansion of the market in the near future to include many food and consumer goods that keep pace with the aspirations of the public.
