The eight topics are outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, Social participation, Respect and social inclusion, civic participation and employment, communication and information, and community support and health services.
The Executive Office of the Sharjah Age-Friendly City (SAFC) Programme, with the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is keen to develop, enhance, and periodically update the services provided by the competent authorities that fall within the standards of age-friendly cities.
The Executive Office of SAFC plans to follow up on government agencies’ fulfilment of the standards to ensure a constant membership of Sharjah in the global network of age-friendly cities by launching initiatives to serve the elderly in all sectors and fields, including transportation, housing, employment, and health services.
