Sharjah 24: His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), met with Kamel Mohammed Farid Shaarawy, Secretary General of the Arab Parliament, during his visit to the Arab Parliament's headquarters in Cairo, to discuss ways to improve collaboration between parliaments under the umbrella of the Arab League and the integration of roles to support efforts for the advancement of the child.
His Excellency Al Barout confirmed that the Arab Parliament for the Child has accepted His Excellency Adel Abdelrahman Al Asoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament's invitation for the speaker of the Arab Parliament for the Child, his two deputies, and committees’ heads to attend the next session of Parliament, which will be held in Cairo on October 16th.
The meeting follows Al Barout and his delegation's attendance in Cairo of the Centre for Arab Parliamentary Diplomacy's consultative empowerment programme on modern standards in parliamentary and consultative council management.
Shaarawy praised the UAE's efforts in hosting the headquarters of the Arab Parliament for the Child, and expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for His Highness’s support and care for the Arab world's children, as well as His Highness’s support to improve the work of the Arab Parliament for the Child, emphasising that the Arab Parliament looks forward to the development of cooperation and the long-term service of children.
